Stocky Is Shutting Down August 31 - Here's What Shopify Merchants Need to Do
Stocky is officially shutting down on August 31, 2026. While Shopify is consolidating some of its features into the native Shopify Admin, many advanced inventory functions will no longer be supported through Stocky after this date.
If you're running a Shopify store and you've been relying on Stocky to manage your inventory, here’s what you need to know (and do).
Stocky Shutdown Timeline
The shutdown rolled out in phases, and two of the three have already passed:
📅 July 7, 2025 — Inventory transfers between locations and min/max forecasting were switched off
📅 February 2, 2026 — Stocky was removed from the Shopify App Store. If you uninstall it now, you can't reinstall it
📅 August 31, 2026 — Full shutdown. The app and its APIs stop working entirely
What You Need to Do
If you are a current Stocky user, Shopify has confirmed that your data will not automatically migrate to their native system.
-
Manual Export Required: You must manually export historical purchase orders and stocktakes.
-
Supplier Data: Note that supplier lists currently cannot be exported directly from Stocky, requiring you to document these details separately.
What is a Good Stocky Replacement for Small and Mid-sized Shopify Merchants?
Based on what Stocky users relied on, a solid replacement needs to do these 4 things well:
- Demand forecasting ability
- Purchase order automation
- Stockout reduction
- Multi-location visibility

- Purchase Order Automation: Automatically generates suggested order quantities to balance stock and save working capital.
- Complex Manufacturing: Support for raw material tracking and multi-level Bill of Materials (BOM) and variants.
