StockTrim is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what information we gather about you, why we do so, how we use it, and how we handle it.

 

This notice applies to all websites we own or operate, as well as all services we offer. We'll simply refer to them as our ‘services’ for the purposes of this notice.

 

Personal data refers to identifiable information, such as your name, email address, phone number, support queries, comments, and so forth. This notice does not apply if you are unable to be identified (for instance, if personal data has been anonymised and aggregated). This notice may be updated from time to time. We will notify you if there is a significant change - typically by email or via the app notification.

Who ‘we’ are

 

StockTrim Software Limited is what we refer to when we use the terms "we" (or "our") or "us". Although our headquarters is in New Zealand, we have offices all around the globe. You can find the address details of StockTrim's office on our Contact page.

 

We offer powerful online inventory forecasting software. It's easy, smart, secure, and provides real-time visibility to a business's inventory, financial situation, and advisors. You can find out more information about us on the About Us page.

 

StockTrim Software Limited (company # 6275068), is our representative in Europe for data protection purposes.

 

How we collect your data

We collect personal data whenever you visit our sites or use our services. It can be broadly classified into the following categories:

 

Information that you give us directly: We may ask for personal data when you use certain parts of our websites or services. We ask for your contact information when we sign you up for a trial or respond to an email job offer or job application or participate in community forums.

 

You don't have the obligation to give us personal data. However, it may mean that you are unable to use certain parts of our websites and services.

 

Information automatically collected: When you visit our website or use our services, we automatically collect certain information about you such as your IP address and device type. When you use our services and websites, we also collect information such as what pages you visited and which links you clicked. We use this information to help us understand how you use our services and websites so we can provide you with the best possible experience (e.g. personalizing the content).

 

Cookies and other tracking technologies are used to collect some of this information.

Information that we receive from third parties: We collect most of the information directly from you. We may also collect personal data from third parties, such as public materials and trusted third parties like our research partners or marketing companies. This information is used to augment the personal data that we already have about you to provide better services and validate any personal data you give us.

 

Where we collect personal data, we’ll only process it:

  • to perform a contract with you, or
  • where we have legitimate interests to process the personal data and they’re not overridden by your rights, or
  • in accordance with a legal obligation, or
  • where we have your consent.

 

We may not be able to provide all of our services if we do not collect your personal data. Also, certain functions and features that we offer on our websites may not work for you.

 

If you don't have a relationship to us but believe that someone has entered your personal information into our websites and services, you will need to contact the StockTrim subscriber to ask any questions about your personal details (including where you wish to access, correct or amend your data or request that it be deleted).

 

How we use your data

We use your personal data first and foremost to run our websites, provide you with the services you request, and manage our relationship with. Your personal data may also be used for the following purposes:

 

To communicate with you. This could include:

StockTrim has qualified support and sales agents around the globe to assist you. StockTrim might ask an advisor or agent in your area to reach out to you about your StockTrim trial.

 

These advisors are there to help you with the implementation and ongoing support of StockTrim's system. You may ask StockTrim to not be contactable by anyone during the signup process by responding to StockTrim at either sales@StockTrim.com or support@StockTrim.com.

 

To improve our websites, services, and create new ones. For example, we track and monitor your use of these services, or we perform technical analysis on our websites and service to optimise your user experience and give you more effective tools.

 

To protect you: We want to detect and prevent fraudulent or malicious activity and ensure that everyone uses our services and websites fairly and in compliance with our Terms.

 

To market to your customers: We may use your personal data to send you marketing communications. This could include targeting advertising on our websites, services, or third-party websites.

 

To analyse, aggregate, and report: We may use your personal data and that of other users of our services and websites (either directly or through third parties), to create aggregated and anonymised analytics reports and reports which we may share with the public or third parties.

You consent to the collection, storage, and use of your personal information by using the Service. StockTrim will use your personal data only for the purposes set out in this Policy, or with your explicit permission.

 

Your password to the Service is your responsibility. If you are aware of misuse of your password, please notify us immediately. You can also change your password via the Service or the "Forgotten Password” process.

 

StockTrim Software doesn't store credit card information

StockTrim does not store your credit card information and can't access them. StockTrim can automatically bill your credit cards on a recurring basis by securely storing your credit card details through a third-party payment gateway.

 

How we can share your data

Sometimes, we may need to share personal data with third parties. Your personal data will be disclosed to the following:

 

Third-party service providers and partners who help and enable us to use the personal data, such as to support the delivery of the website or to provide functionality.

 

Services, to market and promote our products and services to you:

We may disclose your information to regulators, law enforcement agencies, government agencies, courts, and other third parties if necessary to comply or exercise, establish, or defend our legal rights. We will inform you about this type of disclosure whenever possible and appropriate.

An actual or potential buyer and its agents or advisers in connection to an actual, proposed or actual purchase, merger or acquisition any part of our business.

Other people if we have your permission.

 

International Data Transfers

Data may be shared with countries other than your country of residence. This could include Australia and New Zealand, where the servers of our data hosting provider are located. These countries might have different laws than what you are used to. We have safeguards in place in order to protect your personal data when we share it with a third party.

 

Individuals living in the European Economic Area (EEA) may have their data transferred to countries outside the EEA. If your personal data is sent outside of the EEA it will only be transferred in countries that are deemed to provide adequate protection (like New Zealand) or to third parties where we have approved transfer mechanisms to protect your personal information. For transfers to third-party US-based entities, this could include entering into the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission or ensuring the entity has Privacy Shield certification.

StockTrim should not receive your personal data or use the Service if you don't want it to be sent to servers in Australia or New Zealand.

Retention

The amount of time that we keep your personal information depends on the purpose for which it was collected and whether there is an ongoing business reason to do so (e.g., to provide you with a particular service).

 

Your personal data will be kept for as long as there is a relationship between us and you, and for as long thereafter as necessary to fulfil an ongoing business requirement. This will be in accordance our data retention policies. After that time, we will make sure to anonymize or delete it.

 

StockTrim will provide a complete export of your Organisation's data to the Account Owner if your subscription expires within 90 days. This can be done for a fee.

 

StockTrim may permanently delete the Organisation's data after 90 days, if the Organisation ceases to pay StockTrim or at the request of the Account Owner (a fee may apply for such requests).

 

Your rights

You have certain rights regarding this data. When it comes to marketing communications, you can ask us not to send you these at any time - just follow the unsubscribe instructions contained in the marketing communication or send your request to support@stocktrim.com.

Request a copy of your personal information, or ask us for restrictions on processing or deletion

You can object to the continued processing of your personal information.

 

You can exercise these rights at any time by sending an email to support@stocktrim.com.

If you're not happy with how we are processing your personal data, please let us know by sending an email to support@stocktrim.com. We will investigate and respond to your complaint within a reasonable amount of time. Your local data protection authority can also be contacted. They can help you with how to file a complaint.
